The weather in Phu Quoc is generally nice all year round. There are two seasons here. These are dry season starting from November to April and rainy season starting from May to October. The dry season is the best season to visit this pearl island.
In the south of Vietnam, there are often storms in July and August when it rains a lot. Besides, the weather in many regions in Vietnam have changed a lot due to climate change these days. For example, on 30,31 march this year, it rained heavily and it was very cold in the center of Vietnam (Quang Binh, Hue, Quang Tri) even though it’s a hot season as usual. The south of Phu Quoc is famous for many beautiful beaches with Hon Thom cable car, world’s longest sea three rope cable car (7.899.9m) which connects An Thoi town to Hon Thom (Thom islet).

To easily move around in this pearl island, you can rent a motorbike in Duong Dong town, in the center Phu Quoc where there are many motorcycle rental shops. This beach is called as Sao beach (or Bãi tắm Sao in Vietnamese) because there are many starfishes living in this area and visitors can easily see them on the white sand beach. But nowadays, visitors don’t see many starfishes on the beach. “Sao” here means a starfish.
The highlights of Sao beach are spotless white fine sand, crystal clear water, shallow water for children to paddle, romantic view and unspoiled beach.
Some activities are available at Sao beach such as swimming, scuba diving, kayaking, watching sunrise and sunset.

The most convenient way to visit Hon Thom is to take Hon Thom cable car from An Thoi cable car station. This station is 40 km far from Duong Dong town but it takes only 35 minutes by motorbike as the route from the city center to An Thoi town is very large and easily to drive.

Ganh Dau in the northern region is the furthest region of this pearl island from Phu Quoc airport. To move around in this north region, you can take a taxi or a tram at the hotel where you stay to visit attractions. The distance between points is not so far, about 2-6 km. Most local people here drive electric motorbikes. There are no rent motorcycles here. In case you want to drive a motorbike, you should rent it from Duong Dong town and drive to there.
This region is famous for many beautiful resorts, new modern hotels and beaches, big entertainment centers such as Vinpearl Safari, VinWonders, Grand World.
