How to get Vietnam e-visa with the cheapest fee and some popular mistakes encounter when entering Vietnam with this e-visa?

Vietnam e-visa application with the cheapest visa charge is always a demand of many visitors to Vietnam. So, how to have a Vietnam e-visa and where to apply for a Vietnam electronic visa with the cheapest visa application fee?

Besides, some common mistakes that most e-visitors to Vietnam encounter at the immigration control in Vietnam with this e-visa.

How to get a Vietnam e-visa?

When Vietnam totally reopened the border for travelers to Vietnam from 15 March 2022, my friend tried to search on the internet where he can apply for Vietnam e-visa as his period of stay in Vietnam is more than 15 days.

Can you believe?

There are so many travel agents which provide Vietnam visa online service with many different prices. The price for Vietnam e-visa with 30-day- length of stay varies from 40 EUR to 85 EUR. It’s expensive. Furthermore, we don’t know exactly how much prestige they are. We were afraid of paying for that service but not receiving a Vietnam e-visa.

Finally, I tried to search again and find out a Vietnam government’s official immigration website where the visa application fee is just 25 USD with processing time of 3 working days. My friend got e-visa 1 day after submitting visa online application. In case you apply for e-visa on Friday, you would get a visa result on next Monday.

You can apply online for a visa at the Vietnam National Web Portal on Immigration here. This is the best way for you to get Vietnam e-visa with the cheapest visa application fee.

Before applying online for a Vietnam visa, you need to prepare some following things:

  • Credit card (Visa, Master…) to pay for e-visa application charge

Some notice before submitting Vietnam e-visa application

I knew many travelers to Vietnam by e-visa having the same trouble when entering Vietnam with an entry checkpoint different from the one mentioned on their e-visa. Therefore, before submitting the application of Vietnam visa online, you need to note some points as follows:

At Allowed to entry through checkpoint * tab:

A part of Vietnam visa online application form

  • You need to select intended entry gate when you enter Vietnam. If your first destination in Vietnam is Ho Chi Minh city and you take a flight, so Intended entry gate should choose Tan Son Nhat Int Airport.
  • In case you use a visa application service via travel agents, you should check carefully Intended entry gate mentioned on your electronic visa. If you enter Vietnam in an immigration control gate which is different from which mentioned in your e-visa, you won’t be allowed to enter to Vietnam and you have to apply for a new e-visa. This case was shared by my friend from his experiences.
  • Depending on means of transportation that you take to Vietnam such as by air, by land, by sea, you should select Intended entry gate corresponding with the allowed checkpoints.

At Exit through checkpoint * tab:

  • You need to choose intended exit gate where you exit Vietnam. However, I don’t know why this information doesn’t appear in the e-visa of my friends. Maybe only important information will appear in the Vietnam e-visa.
  • For example, the Vietnam electronic visa that my friends got only show Full name, Date of birth, Sex, Passport, Nationality, Validity of e-visa, Allowed entry checkpoint, phone number. That e-visa didn’t show Allowed exit checkpoint.
